Introducing Tug of War to Your School

Tug of war is a simple, accessible sport where every student plays an equal role. It promotes communication, cooperation, physical activity, and positive social interaction — making it an ideal addition to PE programmes, sports days, and wellbeing activities.

Tug of War Ireland has been running a development programme with schools across the country, supported by initiatives like the Active School Flag and Local Sports Partnerships such as the Cork Sports Partnership. Our development officers visit schools to give fun and interactive demonstrations for students of all ages.

Participating schools also receive a free junior tug of war rope to keep, helping them continue the activity long after the initial visit.

If your school would like to get involved or learn more, we’d be delighted to support you.
