Individual Membership
Joining Tug of War Ireland as an individual member connects you to an organised, inclusive sport built on teamwork, strength, and community. Whether you’re competing regularly or getting involved for the first time, individual membership supports your development and participation at every level.

Club Membership
Becoming a registered Tug of War Ireland club places your organisation within the official governance structure of the sport, supporting safe operation, recognised activity, and long-term club development.
- Eligibility for official affiliation and recognition within Tug of War Ireland
- Insurance cover under the TOWI personal accident policy for the club’s primary training ground
- Ability to add additional training grounds through an indemnity arrangement, where required
- One complimentary indemnity permit each year to host a community, promotional, or open club event
- Full access to Tug of War Ireland governance documents, policies, and club resources
- Access to further supports for club activity and development
Tug of War Ireland uses Clubforce.com as its official platform for managing club memberships, providing a secure and consistent registration process.
*Schools Registration is handled securely & directly through Tug Of War Ireland’s own website platform.

Supporter Membership
Becoming a supporter of Tug of War Ireland is a meaningful way to stay connected to the sport while directly supporting the growth and sustainability of your local club and the wider tug of war community.

Supporting Your Club – Giving Back
Supporter memberships also provide direct financial support to clubs:
For every adult supporter membership, €20 is returned to the member’s club
For every family supporter membership, €50 is returned to the member’s club
This contribution helps clubs invest in equipment, activities, and development opportunities for their members and communities.
Annual Membership & Registration for All Participants
Individuals, athletes, clubs, schools, and competition teams register annually with Tug of War Ireland to take part in official programmes, training opportunities, and sanctioned events. Annual membership provides eligibility, insurance cover, and official recognition across the sport.
Membership, Insurance & Permit Information
Annual membership ensures eligibility, insurance cover, and recognition across the sport. Registered clubs and their primary training ground are included under the TOWI personal accident policy, while any additional training grounds may be added for an indemnity fee of €150.
Each registered club is entitled to one indemnity permit per year to host a community, promotional, or open club event at no cost. Additional permits are available for €150 each. All permits are subject to risk assessment and must be supervised by an approved TOWI official.
Registered clubs also have access to the full suite of Tug of War Ireland resources and governance documents.
