DESCRIPTION:DATE\nWednesday 16th September 2026 \nVENUE\nNational Ploughing Championships\nScreggan\, Tullamore\, Co. Offaly \nThe Tug of War Ireland competition will take place at\nBlock 3\, Row 26\, just inside Gate 11\,\nin the Sport & Leisure Area. \n\nWHEN & WHERE\nTug of War Ireland will be at the 2026 National Ploughing Championships\nin Screggan\, Tullamore\, Co. Offaly\, with a special tug of war competition taking place\non Wednesday the 16th of September. \nTeams are invited to take part\, with competition classes suitable for both established\npullers and those looking to get a team together and have a go. \nWeigh-in: 12.00pm\nPulling starts: 1.00pm \nThe competition forms part of the wider National Ploughing Championships\, which run\nfrom the 15th to the 17th of September 2026. \n\nCOMPETITION CLASSES\nU23 – Six-a-Side\nOpen to men and women up to and including 23 years of age on the 1st of January. \n520kg – Six-a-Side\nA six-a-side weight class for teams competing at 520kg. \nCatchweight – Eight-a-Side\nEight pullers per team with no maximum team weight. \n\nREGISTRATION & WEIGH-IN\nTeams wishing to compete should register in advance with Padraig Coyne. \nTeam registration contact:\n087 257 8792\n\nWhatsApp 087 257 8792\n \nWhen teams are registering\, concessions for competing pullers will also be arranged\nthrough Padraig Coyne. \nCompetitors should attend the Tug of War Ireland competition area at\nBlock 3\, Row 26\, just inside Gate 11 for weigh-in at\n12.00pm\, ahead of pulling starting at 1.00pm. \n\nABOUT THE NATIONAL PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS\nThe 95th National Ploughing Championships take place from the\n15th to the 17th of September 2026 at Screggan\, Tullamore\, Co.
